The 2009 Thanksgiving Bowl was created as a social event to celebrate the launch of the holidays on Thanksgiving Day while watching football and eating turkey with family and friends. It is hosted by Vin Lee, Chairman/CEO of the Beverly Hills Cigar Club.
For all those sports fans who will be glued to a TV screen before or after a sumptuous turkey feast on Thanksgiving Day to watch the Detroit Lions - Green Bay Packer football game, the Detroit Cigar Club offers its pick for the most enjoyable cigar for the annual “Thanksgiving Bowl,” the Macanudo Vintage from General Cigar.
After asking club members to name their ideal cigar for after a big meal at home or a famous dinner restaurant like Morton’s or Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Vin Lee, Detroit native and CEO of the Detroit and 14 other social clubs, held a blind tasting. Final choices for the MMIX Thanksgiving Bowl Award included the MonteCristo from Altadis and the Macanudo.
The Thanksgiving Bowl will become an annual event for the company and serves as the launching point for the SuperBowl Cigar campaign.
